The Kelpie Under-Sink RO
Installed & organised — plumber, parts and booking included.
Fixes. What nothing else in the house can.
Plan. Choose how you buy.
Only one filter finishes the job.
Everything below is honest about what it can and can't do — including ours. Fluoride and PFAS get through everything except reverse osmosis.
Why? Water races through a jug or a whole-home filter. Reverse osmosis pushes it slowly through a membrane fine enough to stop dissolved fluoride and PFAS — that only works at one dedicated tap.

Its own tap. On purpose.
RO is slow by design — so it gets a dedicated tap at the sink for drinking, coffee and cooking, while the rest of the house runs at full pressure.

The glass your kids drink from.
Every number on this page comes from independent lab testing — this is the one tap in the house where "close enough" isn't.
The road to your first clean glass.
Four steps from your screen to your tap — we handle everything in between.
The 99.9% is a laboratory number, not a marketing one.
Most brands show you the logos. We'd rather tell you what each one actually means.
The certification Australian law requires before anything can be plumbed into your home. No WaterMark, no legal install — it's that simple.
[PLACEHOLDER — WaterMark licence no.]
Every part that touches your water is certified lead-free — the tap and fittings as much as the membrane housing.
[PLACEHOLDER — lead-free cert ref.]
The removal figures on this page come from independent laboratory testing, not our marketing department. Nothing rounded up.

The bits worth knowing.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, call 1300 KELPIE or email hello@kelpiewater.com.au.
Why can't my jug filter do this?
Jug filters are carbon — good for some chlorine and taste, but dissolved fluoride and PFAS pass straight through. Removing them takes a reverse-osmosis membrane, which works by pushing water through slowly under pressure. A jug can't do that physics.
Does boiling remove fluoride?
No — it does the opposite. Boiling evaporates some of the water and leaves the fluoride behind, so the concentration slightly rises. PFAS survives boiling too. The kettle is not a filter.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
Yes — it's plumbed into the cold line under your sink, with its own tap on the bench. A licensed plumber does it and we arrange the booking with your order.
I'm renting — can I install it?
It's a plumbed install, so you'll need your landlord's OK — but it's a small, tidy, fully reversible job under one sink, which makes it an easy conversation. Want a hand? We're happy to talk to your landlord directly.
Does it really remove fluoride and PFAS?
Yes — 99.9% of fluoride and 97%+ of PFAS, independently lab-tested. It's the one product in our range that can honestly say so, because reverse osmosis is the one method that honestly does it.
Why can't the Whole-House filter do this?
Speed. Water at the mains moves far too fast for a membrane fine enough to catch fluoride or PFAS. The Whole-House system protects your showers, appliances and pipes — this one protects your glass. They pair well.
Does reverse osmosis waste water?
Some water does go to the drain as part of how RO works — that's true of every RO system, and we won't pretend otherwise. It's drinking-water volumes, not shower volumes: small in absolute terms.
Doesn't RO strip out minerals too?
RO takes out most of what's dissolved in the water — minerals included. Your food supplies the overwhelming share of your minerals; the water's job is to be clean.
How often do the filters need replacing?
It depends on your water and how much you drink — we'll remind you when a change is due, and swaps take minutes.
Will it fit under my sink?
It's built for a standard kitchen cupboard, and the plumber confirms fit on the day before any work starts.
